Alex Churchward | Wellness
May 19 2017

When it comes to skin cancer, the sooner it is identified and treated, the better! Remember to use the ABCDE’s of melanoma detection as a useful guide when checking your skin for skin cancer.

Asymmetry Look for spots that lack symmetry. If a line was drawn through the middle, the two sides would not match up.
Border A spot with a spreading or irregular edge (notched).
Color Blotchy spots with a number of colors such as black, blue, red, white, and/or grey.
Diameter Look for spots that have a diameter bigger than a pea.
Evolving Keep your eye on any moles that begin to evolve or change in size, shape, color or elevation. Also look for bleeding, itching or crusting.
